A well thought out and inspired design can transform a wedding from ordinary to extraordinary.
Many new wedding planners are intimidated with the concept of wedding design. Often feeling like they don’t have enough creativity and prior experience to pull off the kind of weddings you see featured on blogs and in magazines. If this resonates with you then you’re in the right place.
In this module we’ll help you create a signature wedding design process that will inspire and excite your clients.
Discovering and understanding where you find inspiration is essential to the early stages of your design process.
Remember your couple will be your biggest source of inspiration. Once you know more about them, their story, their tastes, their loves and hates, designing their wedding will be so much easier.
You need to get to know your clients and gather information about their vision that you can keep referring back to throughout the design phase. This is where a client consultation comes in.
In this module we’ll be covering how and where to gather inspiration for your wedding design.
A wedding lookbook or design & styling proposal expands on your main design moodboard with further images, sketches, mockups, and descriptions of how the design will be implemented across the entire wedding.
A wedding lookbook could be just a series of moodboards for each wedding supplier category such as flowers, cake and stationery.
In this module we’re going to look at how you can build on the moodboard to break down the design into more detail for your couples.
The best way to visually communicate the wedding theme and colours is to create a wedding design vision board, otherwise known as a mood board. Pinterest is a great place for this. It’s essentially an image archive for wedding and design ideas with an easy to use search function.
Variety of imagery is essential to a great moodboard. You don’t want 5 images of a bride in a wedding dress.
And that’s what this module is all about, helping you to understand how to design a cohesive mood board that reflects your couple’s style whilst communicating your ideas to them.
An amazing wedding design will risk falling a bit flat without the right team of wedding suppliers.
You want to present your clients with suppliers recommendations that are not only trustworthy and professional but also with the right style to execute your design.
For example, you probably wouldn’t want to recommend a florist who specialises in Rustic Boho wedding flowers for a classic and elegant wedding design. You’d want to recommend a florist whose signature style matches the design vision.
In this module we’re going to explore how you can select the right suppliers to bring your wedding design to life.
Every venue tells a story and you want the venues your couples choose to tell the right story.
The venue dictates so much when it comes to the design of a wedding PLUS you have to make sure the design you’ve visualised can be produced easily and within whatever restrictions you’re faced with.
Doing a full site visit prior to finalising any design is crucial to your success.
In this module we’ll be looking at the different types of venues you’re likely to work in and how you make sure your design flows naturally within the space you have.
The art of writing proposals that actually get you a signed contract and a paid deposit is something you want to perfect as soon as possible because without any clients all you have is an expensive hobby.
Knowing how to both price and sell your services is essential to your success as a wedding stylist. There are many things to account for when setting your prices and presenting them to your client.
In this module we’ll be looking at how to present your ideas to your client and pricing your services so you fill your diary with the right clients.
On the big day you have to be ready to tackle anything and be the best you can be for your clients from an early start right through until the end of the night.
You may even be setting up the wedding and running the celebrations over several days. So you need to be prepared and ready to hit the ground running as soon as you arrive on site at the venue.
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” – Benjamin Franklin
In this module we’re looking at what happens on the actual wedding day and how you capture what you’ve created for future clients to see.
