Have you been thinking about launching a wedding business? Or is it time for a new-look for your existing wedding brand? Today’s post is all about sharing with you the secret to developing an intimate understanding of what it is you want to be known for and it all starts with using, mind-maps.
When we ‘re-branded’ about two years ago, we worked with a branding agency to help us to refine our brand and make us really look at what our company represents and how we want people to feel when they see our brand. The consultant we worked with spent an hour on the phone with me and as part of the procedure we went through a series of adjectives. These adjectives were used to help draw a visual for the consultant on what our objectives were with our re-brand.
I found this process incredibly helpful and decided to take it one step further by identifying the five words I thought best described the way I wanted our company to be portrayed. From there I went even further and explored those words in more detail, which helped me to define exactly what I wanted our potential student to feel when they visited our website, looked at our branding or saw us on social media.
This process works for both initial branding of a company as well as a re-brand, so for all those readers of our blog out there who are looking to launch their own business I highly recommend identifying five words that describe your brand and then creating a mind map to take that one step further, as you see in the example above.
If you’ve already explored this idea we’d love to hear from you and how it helped you in your business and if you do decide to give it a try, let us know if this simple strategy works for you too.
