Having been a Tutor at the Australian Academy of Wedding and Event Planning now for well over 5 years, I am now having the pleasure of watching my past-students launch and grow their own businesses. If you follow the Academy on Facebook you will know that I do a whip around each Monday to catch up with what many of those Graduates and Students have been up to over the weekend, as they work on Weddings and Events. In fact, at any point in the week where I hear about someone who has studied with us doing something special, I will raise the pom poms and give a shout out. It is without doubt the part of my role which gives me the most pleasure, especially as I speak to many of these people when they enrol and hear about the hopes and dreams they have for the future.
I also love to show off the work students are doing in their courses and I am looking forward to doing even more of that in the New Year via our recently launched Student Showcase. We have an amazingly talented student/graduate body and I am increasingly ‘wowed’ by their submissions.
So this brings me to today’s blog post. Over the coming weeks, we are going to take a walk back through the archives, to re-visit some of the stories we have shared with you throughout the year. Today we are meeting Rebecca Simpson of Little Lane Events again. Rebecca studied our Australian Academy of Wedding & Event Planning Certificate in Wedding Planning. You can read our interview with Rebecca here, but please also visit her website. In addition to Styling and On-the-Day Coordination and Prop Hire, Little Lane Events are now offering workshops from their gorgeous studio. This is the type of story that gives me goose-bumps. Not only did Rebecca achieve her dream of launching a wedding business, she is growing it year by year and achieving the success she planned for when she started out as a student of AAWEP.
Congratulations Rebecca. Each year we enjoy watching your business grow.
