Last week in the UK, we were shown a pathway to an eventual light at the end of this long tunnel. Things are slowly on the way back to normality. Plans can start to be put back in motion and there’s finally some sort of path ahead.
However, we still have another few months left of self-motivation, online and Zoom EVERYTHING, and daily walks.
For me, like many of us, I’ve spent the last year or so either trying to find something that cures the boredom or trying to juggle too many things at once and simply running out of time.
Recently, it’s been the latter.
As most of you know, I’m in my final semester of my final year of university, and I’m obviously still doing my thing with the Academy. But I’ve been a little quiet on the blog/vlog/everything front.
Final year is well and truly killing me, but I wanted to start March off as I mean to carry on, with positivity.
So today I’m sharing 5 things I learnt in 2020:
- If you really want to make something work, you will. I’ve been struggling for time since my final semester started. I was starting to think I wouldn’t have time for Academy work. If you want something, make time for it. Schedule it in. We’re in a lockdown, we have more time than ever before. You can make it happen.
- There’s an actual link between my degree and my Academy work. I was starting to think that I was working on two entirely separate ventures, but it turns out that a lot of the work actually works together. Making my life a whole lot simpler. I’m currently working on publishing and designing my own magazine through Uni, and my Academy work has really aided that, in many ways.
- Unfortunately, Zoom has become my friend. Zoom meetings, quizzes and parties have been shoved down our throats for over a year now. But I wouldn’t have been able to build a relationship with half of my contacts, if it wasn’t for the beauty of Zoom.
- I’d like to think that doing my part for the Academy, being The Apprentice Wedding Planner, has given me a little bit more confidence. Posting every day on social media and putting myself out there was such a nerve-wracking thing for me at first. But I’ve built up such a lovely creative atmosphere on my page which just makes things so much easier.
- Initially, I was unsure about taking my first steps in the wedding industry. Whether I would feel the pressure too much, if I would actually like it or not, or if the whole idea would be a huge flop. But this is something I hope to continue post Uni, and either alongside my career, or follow this all the way!
Remember that every day has its own ups and downs. But you can do this! We all can and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
