This week we are presenting the second runner’s up in our Pantone Colour of the Year WedPin Challenge. Last week we introduced our first runner’s up; Pastel is the New Black by Anna Lengyal. This week’s entry comes to us from Academy student Natalie Hill, founder of Poppies Wedding & Event Planning.
Natalie embraced the challenge and actually created four boards for us, each of them as good as the next, making the task of choosing just one, quite difficult. Here is what Natalie told us about her boards;
“I wanted to create a board that was still strong despite the paleness of the colours. Enter the Rococo and Renaissance era’s which inspired me with their use of many colours with variations on Rose Quartz and Serenity, the era’s slight quirkiness, i.e. the wigs and fabulous grand opulent furnishings and fittings. Couple this with the personality of Marie Antoinette and I knew this was where I wanted to head with my boards.
My Inspiration boards ended up being 4 boards rather then one, but I think each gives a slightly different feel that a bride could use. My favourite is number 4. I worked off the idea that a bride came to me with a vague idea of “Marie Antoinette and fabulous” so I’ve given her options to go modern (4), classic (3), fully Rococo (2) or somewhere in between (1).
