Wedding Planning and Your First Client Consultation

Your first consultation as a Wedding Planner can be daunting.  You know your stuff and you have prepared down to the last detail, but you can’t shake the feeling that, ‘this is the first time’.  This is normal and there really is no way of getting past this, other than to bite the bullet and do it. Once you have that first consultation out of the way and the next and then the next, you will be well on your way to developing your style and confidence in conducting your initial meeting with prospective clients.  But we want to help make that first consultation as rewarding an experience as possible and give you all the tools you need to make it a success, so you turn the consultation, into a sale; which leads me to an exciting announcement about a recent enhancement to our courses which include wedding modules.
Updating and enhancing our course material is just one of the things we do regularly to ensure that our students are graduating with relevant and up to date skills.  We also believe that even though you are studying online there are ways to give you all important practical experiences via our course content and that is why our CEO and Course Designer, Kylie Carlson, recently assumed the role of Bride in a ‘mock’ consultation with Luxury Wedding Designer, Isabel Smith.
“Most wedding planners don’t get the chance to see how other professionals conduct their consultations, they simply have to learn as they go along. This video series gives our students a unique insight into how Isabel conducts her consultations in this behind-the-scenes look into the life of a highly successful luxury wedding planner. It helps to bring the courses to life, making the student’s experience that much more enriched.” – Kylie Carlson
The below is a short excerpt from the 3 Part Client Consultation video series.

If you have some tips of your own to share about conducting your first client consultation we would love to hear them. Simply share them via the comments below.  To find out more about our courses, or to get started, select the campus nearest you below.  Our Course Advisors would love to talk you about your future as a Wedding/Event Planner & Designer.
