I get asked versions of this question, all the time. Another popular one is simply; what is online learning like?
These are actually very fair questions, because probably more so than studying ‘on campus’, how courses are delivered online, varies considerably between providers. At the Academy we have been offering our courses in this way for almost 10 yeas, which means we have learned, a lot, from experience and the feedback our students and graduates give us. We are always improving what we do, but we like to think we understand what works and what doesn’t, very well.
For us, it is all about inspiring and engaging our students with the learning process, so that the fact that you are studying online, rather than in a classroom, actually doesn’t become the most important aspect of what you are doing. This means you are more focused on what you are learning, than how. Long gone are the days when online learning was the poor cousin to face to face learning. You can have a very rich experience as an online learner and the best part is, you are in control of your own timetable and can study when it best suits you. For me its early mornings, but I know many of our students fit study in around travel to work on public transport, children’s nap times, or late in the evening when the day has settled and they have time to do something for themselves.
