With classic French music playing in the background, Australian Academy student, Mona of Lush & Stylish set about developing her concept for this month’s #WedPin challenge, with the theme of War Bride. Here is what Mona had to say about curating her beautiful Pinterest board;
“I envisioned the dark and gloomy side of being a war bride. But I had classic French music playing in the background (La Vie En Rose and La Mer) while I searched for Pins and I got inspired by the songs instead. Both songs were released post war and I thought of all those veterans coming back to the one they love to marry. I chose a Vintage French theme with the colours of beige, light pink and grey with romantic and simple details. Who wouldn’t want a French wedding in a chateau?”
You can view Mona’s board here on Pinterest. There are two things that really stand out for me when I read Mona’s story and saw her board. Firstly, she worked as a designer by putting on some music and letting herself be inspired beyond the obvious sadness of the theme. Secondly, she curated her board with consideration of not just the theme and the message she wanted to portray, but also of colour. By considering all of these things as she collected her Pins, she has curated a board that beautifully shares her vision for our War Bride Wedding and this makes her a deserving winner of this month’s challenge.
We would love to hear your thoughts about this month’s winning entry and please join us on Facebook where we will share links to the other boards that were submitted as part of this month’s challenge (to find us on Facebook click the link to the campus nearest you and then the Facebook icon from the home page).
