Starting a new business is a scary notion and I don’t know anyone, including myself, who wasn’t extremely nervous when it came to taking the plunge. I think much of it is the thought of the unknown. Ever since we were kids most of us have thrived on routine, whether that is when we get up and go to work, when we have our meals or when we get paid. The minute you take that routine away we are pushed outside of our comfort zone and all of a sudden we are the ones setting the boundaries and schedules. Its scary stuff.
Now add in the financial aspect and the thought of not knowing when you next get paid.
Now I am not trying to scare you off, far from it, starting my own business was the best thing I ever did, but I do wish I had received more guidance instead of just throwing myself in the way I did and having the attitude of sink or swim. Luckily for me I didn’t sink, but I did make some whopping big mistakes that could probably have been avoided if I had been a little more informed.
