These days, working in the wedding, or event industry, involves so much more than simply planning and designing weddings & events. Being active on social media is just one of the things you will need to do if you own your own wedding or event business and you may even be called upon to be active on social media for your employer, if working in someone else’s business. That is why our Diploma courses include training on how to use social media within a business.
However, we gone a step further than teaching the theory behind social media and business, by giving our students the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice. We did this last year with our monthly #WedPin challenge and will do it again soon with a new challenge called #Wedgram. But there has been something else going on behind the scenes we want to share with you today. Since Pinterest launched we have had an account for each of our campuses, but recently we decided to create a new account which represents all of our campuses, as this blog does and one of the really cool features of this new page is that it has been curated by our students. You can see the results of their hard work here on Pinterest.
The new account is still a work in progress and our students will continue to fill it over the coming weeks and months. As they do, they will be learning important lessons about how to curate boards that inspire wedding and event lovers; knowledge they will take with them as the set about starting their own business account on Pinterest, or working on someone else’s. For those of you who love weddings and events, the new page is full of inspiration, from all corners of the globe and from a diverse range of perspectives; something we think is very exciting for anyone who is interested in creativity and design.
If you would like to find out more about what you can learn as a student of the Academy contact us via the campus nearest you. If you are student who would like to curate a board for us, contact me.
