We are very excited to announce after receiving a huge amount of fantastic applications for our position of Academy Apprentice we have finally made a decision. Welcome to the Academy Team Martha Tobyn!
Martha is a student with our UK Campus and fought off some tough competition from her peers to win this coveted role. We eventually narrowed it down to just five applicants who were all put through their paces by completing a social media task, answering a series of thought provoking questions and being interviewed by yours truly. They all deserve a mention as the standard was very high and if I could have offered them all a position I would have done. So well done to Dianna Speedy, Liz Rainbows, Josephine Schonwald, and Staci Hattan, all worthy finalists.
Martha will be joining the Global Academy Team and working on the International Wedding Trend Report, The Wedding Business Magazine, looking after the Advisory Board, contributing to marketing, social media and PR, helping to plan and produce our studio days and a lot more besides.
We thought it would be fun to get Martha to tell us a little bit more about what makes her tick and she came back with the formula of Martha.
“Take a sunny morning with blue skies, add a delicious weekend brunch with friends, subtract encounters with rude or unfriendly people. To that add cuddles with our little dog Cleo, and a walk on Hampstead Heath during the change of the seasons. Never add cheese flavour anything, it is the real deal or nothing at all. Add summer in Copenhagen with craft beer and fresh cinnamon buns, and Winter at home with family, a cosy fire and board games. You can never add too much fashion! Culture and learning is always a plus, and add inspirational collaborations. Subtract rain, unless its of the hot tropical storm type. Add anything and everything wedding related. And there it is the formula for Martha.”
