The International Wedding Trend Report 2018

The wait is finally over. I am beyond excited to announce the launch of the 4th edition of the International Wedding Trend Report. Each year the team here at the Academy of Wedding and Event Planning bring you the latest and greatest trends that we believe you’ll be seeing in the year ahead as you work with your bridal couples, and we do this with the help of some of the top wedding experts from around the world.
As we are a global training Academy offering education to wedding planners, stylists and designers we are well placed to give you a truly unique view at trends from regions including Australia, the UK, the Middle East, South East Asia, North America and launching in March our Spanish Campus.
So where do we turn when we are looking to predict the wedding trends for 2018 and 2019? Well it certainly isn’t Pinterest as those are weddings that are happening now and were determined by trends from two years ago.
We always look to the arts, design, fashion and interiors for wedding trend predictions, and one of the big design trends in 2016 and 2017 was mixed metallics. Copper has been hugely popular for more than five years but it has reached its peak and brass is now the metallic of the moment.
Millennial pink has been having a moment and whilst our pink obsession will continue in the world of weddings it may not last forever. Powdery pinks are very ‘now’ but are predicted to look dated by the end of next year. With Pantone’s colour of the year for 2018 being Ultraviolet we believe that lavender will be taking centre stage.
Black and white polka dots are set to take over floral print, the flowing fringe is back and all hail the fancy feather as a versatile decorative element. The big hit though is definitely velvet as it hits the design mark in moody colours that seem to have transcended seasons.
To find out more you need to read the full report which is full of stunning visuals provided by several talented styled shoot team, which you will hear more about over the coming weeks. Get your insight into everything wedding trend related by registering for your FREE copy right here…
