Last month we bought you the launch of an exciting new addition to our UK campus course list, The Diploma in Floral & Event Styling. This blended learning Level 4 Diploma course is the only one of its kind in the wedding industry and gives you the opportunity to combine a hands-on learning experience with the convenience of online learning. The course led by floral pro Dee McMeeking, will teach you how to combine your love of design, flowers and styling ready to launch your business as a Floral & Event Stylist.
So what is a Floral Stylist?
Floral stylists or floral designers create pleasing artistic compositions, using floral and botanical elements. Much like a wedding & event designer/stylist a floral stylist will use the principles of design (balance, proportion, rhythm, contrast, harmony, and unity), to create a floral arrangement. Some floral stylists will be florists with a broad range of floral services, whilst others will combine it with similar functions such as editorial or prop styling. A floral stylist may work on projects such as wedding & event florals, editorial styled shoots, still life compositions, or commercial displays.
