Congratulations to the Winners of our Pantone Colour Challenge

We recently set our Wedding Academy community the fun challenge of designing a wedding inspiration board inspired by the colours that Pantone have predicted will be trending for Spring Summer 2021.
You guys really stepped up to the challenge this year and the level of entries was outstanding! Everyone got involved including our students and graduates, as well as wedding pros and wedding planner newbies.
It fell to the Wedding Academy team to select the winning boards. There were so many stunning moodboards, it was a tough job picking our favourites!
Now, we expect you are dying to know who we picked as the winners. So without further ado here they are:
Why Bonita loves it: “I chose this board as it gives one an overall impression of the event, from the beginning to end and ties in the finer details. Definitely, a winner in my book. I absolutely love the purple velvet chair which inspires the overall design.”
Why Zoe loves it: “I chose this burnt coral as they have really visualised the overall style of the event and I could feel it in this board rather than just choosing wedding images of the right colour.“
Why Martha loves it: “For me, this board has everything a great moodboard should. It has a clear colour story, a variety of strong inspirational images, a beautiful design theme, and it conveys a mood that is almost tangible.”
The winning board for French Blue – @behindtheveil_photography
Why Kylie loves it: “I really loved the main image which I thought represented the colour really well and rather than using the more obvious French elements the board focused more on the moodiness of the colour, which I personally really liked.”
Why Christine loves it: “Perhaps it’s the cocktail. Perhaps it’s the dress. Something about this board just stands out to me as perfectly expressing the mood of this very soft and minty green colour. It’s balanced, fun but elegant at the same time.”
Why Zoe loves it: “This one kept drawing me back because of the added element of stripes/two tone details but cleverly sticking to one colour throughout.”
Why Christine loves it: “What I love about this board is it’s boho edginess with a hint of retro, featured with the font and tableware. It’s fun and funky and the hero colour of orange is my personal favourite shade of Marigold.“
Why Bonita loves it: “I liked this board as it stood out for me amongst the rest with its contemporary feel. I could feel the personality of the bride come through in this board, definitely points to an unusual wedding which connects with this planner’s ideal client’s wedding style.“
Why Kylie loves it: “I loved the bold, fashion led approach that used elements other than those traditionally seen in weddings. I also loved the font used and how the whole design didn’t fall into the stereotypical look or feel of a wedding inspired mood board.”
Why Martha loves it: “This board really stood out with it’s unique inspiration images. I just love everything about it! The layout, the colour palette, and such a carefully curated image choice from a variety of sources, not just other weddings.”
Whilst it wasn’t part of the challenge, a number of you also submitted entries for the Pantone ‘core classics’ palette. So as you’d gone to the trouble we asked The Apprentice Wedding Planner, Summer if she’d pick her favourite core classic moodboard. And here it is:
The winning board for Core Classics – @timelessevents.slo
Why Summer loves it: “I absolutely adore the Winter Wonderland wedding theme from @TimelessEvents.slo! Everything about this board screams a Narnia type heaven and is so picturesque, exactly what my dream wedding would look like!”
